Today we took a spin over to Kissena Track in Flushing for Day # 5 which is Ladies Day! All women raced for free today and it was a good turnout and a beautiful day to race. For those who love this discipline, this is a fantastic opportunity and a chance for something a bit different from the road. Please check out the next part of the series on May 6th and come back to this site tomorrow for part 2.

Season opener part 2 (For me)
Long awaited Spring is finally here and the park is bursting with freshness and activity. The riders can’t wait to leave the long sleeves home and get down to field sprints and breakaways at Prospect.
2017 Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup Season Opener (For me)
Maybe due to a the one week weather delay, or perhaps the hope of some warm sunshine but whatever the reason today’s season opener of the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup brought a packed field to Prospect Park. Proving once again that Paris-Roubaix has nothing on Brooklyn’s Eastern Parkway. We look forward to a great season of racing. (Part 1 of 2, check back tomorrow for the rest of the photos)
2016 Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup Finale
Part 2
Many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into producing this year’s series. A special shout to the sponsors, Tom Lucarelli and Phil Castaldi who continue to support the New York City cycling community in so many ways. Promoter Charlie Issendorf and his team of marshals, officials and volunteers who tirelessly show up and do the hard work it takes to make the actual race each week.
And mostly to the riders, of all levels that rise early and ride to race all Summer and make this simple ride a true event!
Many many thanks to all.
2016 Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup Finale

This morning’s full moon shone over the riders at Prospect Park for the final race of the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup 2016 season. The turnout was particularly good with over one hundred riders from all

The morning started wet with mist, but the showers held off just long enough for a good start with a nice field.
